This image shows cuttings being encouraged to grow during the low light of early season. This was neccesary to get new stock to grow so as to be early enough to plant for Chelsea flower show. Chelsea is always the last full week in May, and dahlias do not normaly flower until mid summer, around mid August at the earliest.
