In a little while the new shoots begin to make progress. Sometimes there are only two shoots that will start to grow from the next set of leaf axils down from the pinch. Other times however there could be four or six, depending on the stage of the plant at time of pinching. The fewer shoots that are alowed to develop will make the resulting stems and flowers stronger.
